Author Biography

Pat Nowak is known by thousands throughout Northwestern Ohio and Southeastern Michigan as the voice of the late Seaway Food Town Supermarket chain. She co-hosted and directed the area’s most popular local Saturday morning radio talk show, wrote, produced and appeared in company advertising and televised preview shows. In addition, she served as the firm’s media spokesperson.

Her career has also included the presidency of the Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce, stints as fashion director for two local department chains, the owner of a public relations firm, consultant for a television station, and as writer for a several respected weekly newspapers. All of these have combined to create a highly recognizable and admired public persona, one whose word is trusted by listeners and readers alike.

Her journalism career began out of necessity. Suddenly thrust into the position of widowhood, she searched for something both readable and useful that could help her cope with her grieving soul. Finding great stories about personal triumph helped somewhat, but she quickly found there was little that addressed precisely and with clarity what every new widow faces.

The ABC’s of Widowhood fills that void for millions of women. The book concisely provides the help that women need to get their emotional and financial world in balance. The book celebrates the spirit of hope and allows a woman to discover the path to being reborn through perseverance, courage and determination.
